Ultimately, we plan to introduce a subscription level service that includes premium features, but everything you see today - including the ability to submit and read comments and to link directly to FizzDisplays of patents, claims, and comments - will always be free.
A: PatentFizz is an advertising-supported service. We sell some of our ad space directly, and populate other spaces with ads from various services, including Google AdSense. If you're interested in advertising on the site, please contact us at sales@patentfizz.com.
A: We cannot review every comment submitted for every patent. We realize that our approach of accepting all comments may, and likely will, result in some 'spam' or 'junk' comments. We believe that the value of accepting input from the entire community far outweighs any marginal detriment created by these meaningless comments. When someone uses PatentFizz to assess the validity of a particular patent, we believe that the "this patent sucks" type comments will be appropriately disregarded as insignificant.
A: The FizzMaster is a complex identity. He's the alter ego of our founding patent attorney, J. Matthew Buchanan, but he's also the identity used to post a lot of comments received from the community (hey, some people just don't like to fill out forms). Sometimes, we even let special invited guests post comments as the FizzMaster.
